John Knorpp is Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer at Merit Medical Systems. In this role, he directs all global Regulatory and Medical Affairs activities which includes worldwide regulatory submissions and clinical trials. John completed a Bachelor's of Science degree at Brigham Young University specializing in Statistics- Quality Science and an MBA from the University of Utah. Previously he was employed by CR Bard as Director of Regulatory. He has been in the medical device industry since 1996.

Rob Etherington has held a variety of roles in 20+ years in the pharmaceutical industry. Rob is former senior VP, commercial operations at Actelion Pharmaceuticals US, Inc. helping grow it into a $7+ billion market-cap company with nearly $2 billion in annual sales. Rob also served as an officer of Actelion and on the US Executive Board. Before joining Actelion, Rob served as a marketing leader at Pfizer with key responsibilities in the launch years for Lipitor and Rezuliin. Rob is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School General Management Program, and he holds an MBA from the Marriott School at Brigham Young University. He joined BioUtah's Board of Directors in April 2016.  

John Langell, MD, PhD, MPH completed his surgical training at Stanford University Medical Center and completed advanced training in Space and Aerospace Medicine with NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. He has specialized expertise in the treatment of diseases of the upper gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract and endocrine system. He currently serves as Chief of General Surgery at the George E Wahlen VA Medical Center and Executive Director for the CMI at the University of Utah.

Travis Sessions is the Founder, President & CEO of Biomerics. With over 19 years experience in business management, Mr. Sessions has successfully built multiple medical device technology companies and held key management positions at Biosonix, Microsoft, The Dow Chemical Company and Parker Hannifin Corp. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from BYU and MBA from the University of Michigan. He serves on various industry boards as well as the Salt Lake Life Science Angels and private education organizations.

With over 25 years experience in Washington D.C. in high-level government affairs positions representing physician specialties, laboratories, hospital systems and health insurers Denise has extensive knowledge of healthcare policy and the legislative and regulatory process. In addition to her work in policy and advocacy, Denise served as a legislative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. She joined BioUtah in 2016.

Kelvyn has three decades experience as a medtech CEO, over a decade on the board of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association and over a decade as mayor of a suburb of Salt Lake City. He brings a unique understanding of industry and policy issues to advance association objectives and help member companies. He has been CEO of BioUtah since October 2018.

Jacey Skinner has held a variety of senior leadership roles in Utah state government and Utah business organizations. Before joining Ballard Spahr, served as General Counsel to Utah Gov. Gary Herbert from 2013 to 2017. In that role, she negotiated legislation, oversaw the Governor's legislative review and bill signing, coordinated litigation with the Attorney General's Office, advised the Governor, his Cabinet, and the Lieutenant Governor on legal, policy, and ethical issues, and oversaw Gov. Herbert's judicial appointment process. She also served as the Deputy State Court Administrator for the State of Utah, where she facilitated policy development and managed relations with the state legislature, executive branch agencies, the Utah Judicial Council, and the Utah Supreme Court.

Ted Haack joined LatticePoint in July 2016 and provides advisory services to early-stage companies, including pharma, biotech and the cell and gene therapy space. He has advised on market access and pricing strategy, EMA Adaptive Pathways, international expansion, talent acquisition, and key customer relationships and engagement. Prior to consulting, he spent 17 years working in the pharmaceutical industry and headed the Market Access function for Genzyme’s Rare Disease Business Unit and Pfizer’s Head of Head of Market Access, Primary Care BU. Before joining Pfizer, he spent 7 years at Schering-Plough in various regional and affiliate finance roles.

Ted began his career at Deloitte & Touche, including two years in Frankfurt, Germany and is a qualified SEC Audit Committee Financial Expert and CPA (inactive). He was appointed as an Independent Director of Promethera Biosciences (BE) in April 2019. He has a BS degree in accounting from Villanova University, a Master of Arts in International Affairs from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University, and an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. He speaks fluent German in addition to his native English.

Dr. Haven McCall has 24 years of experience working in the medical device, drug and biologics industry in various roles including, scientific, technical, regulatory, quality, and clinical research. He currently serves as the Founder and CEO of Novo Laboratories, LLC headquartered in Lehi, Utah. Haven is passionate about science and innovation and enjoys working within Utah's thriving life science industry.

Haven's doctoral studies at the University of Southern California focused on improving the standard of care for patients through risk mitigation and quality principles. His personal mission throughout his career has been on developing innovative products that have life changing benefits for the patients who use them. 

Haven is a member of BioUtah, Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS), American Society for Quality (ASQ), Project Management Institute (PMI), The Organization for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA - Europe) and the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program), Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA). Over the last 20 years, he has participated within these organizations to drive improvements for industry best practices, regulations, guidance documents, standards and directives.

Throughout his career, Haven has also taught graduate level courses in quality, regulatory and clinical research and currently teaches at Johns Hopkins University.
